The second novel by the author of THE CENTAUR and THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK, the first novel in the RABBIT series -- the story of Harry Angstrom, a one-time high school basketball star who on an impulse deserts his wife. The RABBIT books taken together chronicle the major events occurring during the second half of the twentieth century -- the last two novels in the series (RABBIT IS RICH and RABBIT AT REST) each separately won the Pulitzer Prize.
